Sopris West’s Consulting Services was developed to support educators in their efforts to raise the achievement levels of all students, especially those at risk for school failure. Our comprehensive Response to Intervention (RtI) Initiative, designed by nationally renowned RtI experts, provides practical, evidence-based resources that are proven to increase student achievement.

Our RtI consultants identify what systems are already in place and what needs to be done to establish a comprehensive schoolwide or districtwide RtI plan. Issues addressed include entrance and exit criteria, assessment protocols, data collection procedures, logistics of student and teacher scheduling, and selection of intervention materials.

To ensure an efficient and effective RtI plan, consultants may recommend the following:

• Establish student criteria for entering and exiting interventions
• Link appropriate interventions to specific academic challenges
• Determine data collection procedures and use data to drive instruction
• Analyze progress monitoring information to assess adequate student growth
• Address selection of instructional materials, adjustments to schedules, and other logistics of providing interventions
• Develop processes for sustainability
