Solutions Consultant
Director of Proposal and Project Development
Title: Solutions Consultant
Location: Providence, Rhode Island
The Solutions Consultant develops and delivers presentations for training
sessions based upon the company’s principles and methods. This position will
provide literacy training for products and services developed by Cambium
Learning/Sopris West and will be based in Providence, Rhode Island.
Essential Responsibilities:

Assist with creating a district plan for training and with benchmark planning
to monitor implementation based on student performance as determined by data.

Support applicable online assessment systems and technology products.

Provide teacher training, training for administrators and specialists, and
follow-up training.

Provide on site classroom coaching
-
Participate in ongoing development of initial teacher training and follow- up
modules.

As requested, develop follow-up and online training modules as prioritized by
the Cambium Learning Solutions leadership team.

Provide content support to Cambium Learning divisions/teams within Sopris West
as well as support to the Sales team.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-
Knowledge of literacy, literacy interventions, data interpretation, and product
specific information is necessary to complete day-to-day operations.
- Excellent
organizational and follow up skills.
- Strong presentation skills, both oral
and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with Cambium
Learning customers, staff, vendors, trainers, and authors.
- Experience in
working with adults in a professional development atmosphere.
- Ability to travel
required
Preference will be given to applicants with prior training in Language! and/or
LETRS.

Title: Director of Proposal and Project Development
Location: Longmont, CO
Department: Consulting Services
Classification: Exempt
Purpose: This position is fully responsible for developing
proposals and administering resulting projects in the area of school
improvement using consulting services and materials from Sopris West.
Responsibilities and activities:

Responsibility: To develop successful applications that result in substantial
funding for consulting services and/or products to be used in school
improvement efforts
-
Activities: Find potential funding sources for consulting services, including
the development of a CSR proposal template, school wide Title I template,
Reading First professional development proposal, and a proposal template for
securing funding through IDEA.

Activities: Respond to requests for proposals by developing appropriate
applications that fit the specific needs detailed in each RFP.

Activities: Develop responsive applications in a timely manner.
-
Activities: Develop project budgets which are fair to customers as they provide
adequate profit for the company over the life of the contract.

Activities: Coordinate with Program Directors to insure that professional
development offerings and materials are appropriately represented in each
application.

Activities: Meet with potential customers to collaborate on proposals as
necessary.

Activities: Work with appropriate Sopris West personnel to secure needed
documentation for each proposal.

Activities: Submit well written, logical proposals that meet the requirements
of each sponsoring agency and are funded at a high rate.

Activities: Assist Key Product Implementation Services team with large program-
specific RFP opportunities as well as aggressively help current strategic
customers identify additional funding opportunities.

Responsibility: To assist in administering successful consulting services
projects

Activities: Meet with customers for planning implementation of successful
proposals

Activities: Correspond with consultants to arrange schedules and make
assignments for projects.

Activities: Oversee logistics for projects, insuring that all travel
arrangements are made and contracts and invoices are prepared in a timely
manner.

Activities: Work with project personnel at implementation sites to insure that
needs are being met and customer satisfaction is high

Responsibility: Miscellaneous

Activities: Performs a variety of similar, related duties and special projects
as assigned
Decision Making: Interpretive. The person in this position will need to
make strategic decisions regarding the best involvement of the company in
proposed projects. This person will establish projects, create budgets and
dedicate resources for each project and will need to be a competent decision
maker who can be trusted to make beneficial decisions for both the company and
our customers.
Complexity: This position is strategic. It requires a deep knowledge of
curriculum, instruction, leadership, professional development and assessment
and must be able to integrate these areas into a persuasive proposal that will
result in significant student achievement and profit to the company.
Purpose of Contact: This position may contact authors, program
directors, consultants, district and state education agency personnel and
others to secure information about proposal content and/or to administer
projects once they are secured.
Authority: Administrative Authority – influence is through direct impact
within consulting services sales and services.
Interacts: This position interacts with customers, authors, consultants
and employees in the Consulting services, Sales and Marketing, Operations and
Office of the President of Sopris West as well as all employees of Cambium
Learning Solutions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of scientifically based
reading research, positive behavior management principles, effective
instructional strategies, essential leadership skills and professional
development design are required for this job. Knowledge of special education,
Title I, Reading First and other funding sources is needed as well as the
ability to use a computer to conduct research for pertinent applications. In
addition, excellent writing and proposal development skills are essential.
Excellent organizational and follow up skills are necessary and the individual
must have outstanding problem solving skills and the ability to make
appropriate independent decisions. Excellent people skills are important for
interacting with Sopris staff, customers, consultants and authors.
Organizational Chart: This position reports directly to, and is
supervised by, the Director of Consulting Services unit who is also the
day-to-day source of information and guidance.
